With so many makeup tips out there, it’s easy to lose track—especially because it’s a well-known truth that makeup has no rules. There are an unlimited amount of strategies and ways to examine.
Achieving a beautiful makeup look doesn’t have to be hard. Here are some innovative and contemporary ideas that’ll make your beauty regimen fast and successful, guaranteeing that your style is current, ageless, and best suited to your specific demands in 2024.
Foundation and Concealer Tips
One recent approach is applying foundation sparingly and just where required, then blending with a moist sponge for a more natural finish. Concealers should be a shade lighter than your foundation and carefully applied in tiny quantities to problem areas, like as under the eyes and around the nose, which maintains the look fresh without creasing or caking.
Pro Foundation and Concealer Tips:
I usually like to apply foundation with clean fingers, as I think this approach integrates the product into my skin better and helps it stay longer (less product is wasted on a sponge or makeup brush if you simply use your hands!).
Be careful to gently integrate the product all the way under the jawline and into the hairline to prevent any lines. After applying your foundation, take a Beauty Blender (it is a necessity in every girl’s makeup kit!) and wet it with a tiny bit of water and squeeze off the excess.
Dab the concealer all over the inner corner of your eye and up to your lower lash line. Apply any extra to the eyelids to make an eyeshadow base! Don’t dab too much; it helps mix things together!
Blush Under Foundation for a Natural Glow
Applying blush before foundation results in a “lit-from-within” impression, which is great for a dewy, natural appearance. For the finest effects, use cream blushes and mix them beneath your foundation. Layering the blush provides you control over its brilliance without dominating your appearance.
Pro Tips:
For a subtle, natural glow, putting blush under foundation is a terrific method. Start with a cream or liquid blush in a hue similar to your natural flush, applying it softly on the cheeks. Once blended, apply your foundation over it with a moist sponge or brush, allowing the blush to discreetly peek through.
Translucent Setting Powder
Next, I use RCMA No-Color Powder to set my foundation and concealer. This cheap setting powder sinks into the skin, helping to fix your foundation and concealer for all-day use.
Pro Translucent Powder Tip: I use a tiny, soft, fluffy brush when working with this product, so I can be more specific with my application. When applying powder to set your foundation, concentrate especially on your T-zone and under-eye region.
Changing your face with bronzer
Apply your bronzer in the form of a number 3, going from the sides of your face toward the center. This offers more warmth and shape to your face.
If you’d rather gently elevate your face, use an angled powder brush to work in a “C-shape” motion. Start at the broadest part of the cheekbone and follow the form of the letter “C” as far as your temples and forehead.
Lifting with eyeshadow
To make the eyes look rounder, accentuate the outer corners of your eyes and smooth the eyeshadow over the eyelid in circular strokes.
For smaller-looking eyes and a gentler appearance, accentuate the outer corners of the eyes with an eyeshadow. Gently mix any residual color on your brush across your movable lid in diagonal strokes.
Bronzer, Blush & Highlighter
This is one step I never skip! I love the Tarte Clay Play Eye & Cheek Palette. It’s a one-stop-shop for bronzer, blush, highlighter, and eyeshadow. I’m a staunch believer that everyone can (and should!) wear bronzer, no matter your skin tone.
Pro Bronzer Tip: Don’t forget to apply a dab of bronzer on the front of the neck and under the jawline to blend everything together. Remember, you can never mix too much!
Next, I apply my blush. I do this like a Nike swoop, twirling my brush at the apple of my face and swooping it back and up towards my temple. Blush is really crucial to make our cheeks sparkle and help us seem lively, cheerful, and fresh!
Applying eyeliner
Eyeliner is often placed along the lash line with a little wing on the end. This might make your eye look smaller and deeper-set.
However, if you start putting your eyeliner from the outside corner and link it with the highest point of your eye, it will give it a finer, more extended look.
